Shell scheme
upgrades.
You booked the booth. The organiser gave you three white walls and a name board. Here is how to not look like everyone else who did.
Walk any Australian exhibition floor and the pattern repeats: rows of identical white shell scheme booths, a pull-up banner in each corner, a trestle table with a tablecloth. Visitors’ eyes slide straight past. The exhibitors who stop traffic in the same 3×3m footprint didn’t spend ten times more — they treated the shell as a frame, not a finish.
A shell scheme upgrade replaces the white walls with full-height printed graphics, adds lighting that actually models your product instead of the venue’s fluorescent wash, and swaps the trestle for a counter that works as a meeting point. Everything installs inside the organiser’s shell, inside the rules, inside a single bump-in window.
The kitWhat an upgrade includes
Printed walls
Seamless full-height graphics across every wall you own — designed by our studio, printed in-house, fitted without damaging the shell.
Light & floor
Arm lights or track on the fascia, LED feature strips, and raised or branded flooring that separates your space from the aisle carpet.
Counters & furniture
Branded counters, shelving, literature holders, stools and screens from our furniture range — delivered, placed and collected.
The argumentWhy upgrade instead of going custom
Sometimes you shouldn’t — a flagship show with an island position deserves a full stand. But when the booking is a shell booth at a conference exhibition or a first outing at a new show, the upgrade is the rational spend: a fraction of the budget, no venue construction approvals, an install measured in hours, and graphics that re-run across every same-sized booth for the rest of the season.
It is also the brief where our in-house model shows: design, print and installation are one workflow in one building, so a campaign change two weeks out is a reprint, not a crisis.
CoverageAny venue, any organiser’s shell
We fit out shell schemes at every major Australian venue and work to each organiser’s rules — fascia, walls and services stay untouched.
FAQShell scheme questions
What exactly is a shell scheme booth?
The white-walled, name-board booth most exhibition organisers include with a standard floor booking — typically 3×2m or 3×3m of system walls, a fascia with your company name, and a light or two. It is a blank canvas, and on a busy floor a blank canvas is invisible.
What can actually be changed inside a shell scheme?
More than most exhibitors realise. Full-height printed wall infills, lighting, raised flooring, counters, shelving, hanging signs where the venue allows, furniture and AV all install inside the shell without touching the venue structure — which is the rule that matters.
How much does a shell scheme upgrade cost?
Printed walls for a standard 3×3m booth with lighting and a counter typically lands well under the cost of the smallest custom stand — our packages start at $2,800 ex GST. Price your booth size in the configurator for an instant figure.
How long does installation take?
Hours, not days. Upgrade kits are pre-built and pre-fitted in our workshop, so a typical booth is installed during a single bump-in window — including the overnight installs common at conference exhibitions.
Can the graphics be re-used at my next show?
Yes, if the next booth is the same size — and because shell schemes are standardised, it usually is. Most clients re-run walls across a season of shows and update a single panel when the campaign changes.
