DISPLAYD vs modular systems
same frame, different finish.
A modular system gives you a kit of parts; DISPLAYD gives you a finished stand built on one. Same frame. Different outcome.
Home›Guides›DISPLAYD vs Modular Systems
Plenty of suppliers sell or rent a modular exhibition system as a self-assembly kit: poles, panels, a printed skin, an instruction sheet. It is cheap, fast and forgettable. DISPLAYD starts from the same reusable aluminium frame but designs, fabricates, prints and installs the whole thing for you, so what lands on the floor reads as a custom build, not a catalogue item.
The distinction matters because the frame is only the skeleton. A bare system shows its joins, its standard heights and its flat graphic walls. A built stand hides the structure behind seamless infills, lighting, joinery and three-dimensional features. We work on the BeMatrix platform precisely so you keep the reuse and freight savings of a system without the kit-of-parts look.
So the real choice is not modular versus custom. It is a naked system you assemble against a designed stand we deliver on that same modular backbone.
In detailThe short version
An off-the-shelf system
A standard kit you buy or hire and build yourself. Lowest cost, quickest to source, but limited heights, visible joins and graphic-wall looks that every neighbour also runs.
A bespoke one-off
Fully custom timber-and-paint joinery designed from scratch. Stunning, but heavy, slow, expensive to store and usually skipped or scrapped after one show.
The DISPLAYD answer
Design and finish of a custom build on a modular frame we own and install. Reusable, freightable, recyclable, and quoted from $2,800 ex GST.
FAQCommon questions
Is DISPLAYD just another modular system?
No. We use the BeMatrix modular frame as the structure, then design, fabricate, print and install a finished stand around it. You get a one-off look from a reusable, recyclable backbone.
Can I reuse a DISPLAYD stand like a system kit?
Yes. The frames are 100% recyclable and built to go show after show. We can reconfigure the same components into different footprints as your program changes.
When is a plain modular kit enough?
If you need a low-cost, repeatable wall for a small space and the standard look is fine, a basic kit can work. When the stand has to carry the brand, a built approach pays off.
