Australia’s major exhibition calendar — 2026

Every major trade show, expo and conference across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Australia’s exhibition year has a rhythm. Learn it, and your stand budget works harder: book early for the autumn cluster, reuse structure across the winter run, and land your hero build where your buyers actually are.

Here is the year as we plan it with clients — by city, by season.

Sydney · ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour

The national anchor. The ICC’s calendar runs dense from March to early June and again September to November — fitness and wellness expos in autumn, food service and retail in winter, technology and trade through spring. If you exhibit once a year, the odds are it’s here.

Planning note: ICC build windows are tight and rigging slots go first. Hanging signs need to be locked in 8–10 weeks out.

Melbourne · MCEC, South Wharf

The volume leader — Melbourne hosts more trade days than any other Australian city. Major homewares and gift fairs open the year in February, the building and construction cluster lands mid-year, and the food and hospitality calendar peaks in late winter.

Planning note: the February fairs and the mid-year cluster pair well for structure reuse — same frame, two skins. This is where modular pays for itself (Ideas · No. 004).

Brisbane · BCEC, South Bank

Brisbane’s calendar leans industry: mining and resources, agriculture, healthcare. The winter months are the heavy season, when the southern venues quieten. A growing number of national shows now run a Brisbane edition — budget for it.

Planning note: BCEC loading access is generous by national standards; taller builds that are painful elsewhere are practical here.

Adelaide · Adelaide Convention Centre

Compact but loyal — wine and food, agribusiness and an increasingly strong defence-industry cluster, anchored around North Terrace. Shows here are smaller; presence is cheaper; share of attention is higher. A flagship 6×6 in Adelaide often out-performs a lost-in-the-crowd 6×9 in Sydney.

Perth · PCEC, Mounts Bay Road

The resources economy’s shopfront. Mining, energy and marine dominate, with the major events clustering May to September. Freight is the line that surprises east-coast exhibitors — ship a reusable frame system once and warehouse it locally, rather than trucking custom joinery across the Nullarbor twice a year.

The one-page version

  • February–March — Melbourne opens the year; Sydney warms up.
  • April–June — the national peak. Sydney and Melbourne run hot; book everything early.
  • July–September — Brisbane and Perth’s season; the smart window for east-coast brands to go west and north.
  • October–November — the spring close in Sydney and Melbourne; summer is for rebuilding the kit.

Six cities. One team. We design, print, build and install in all of them — local crews, one point of contact — so a national calendar doesn’t need six sets of suppliers.
